Starting a house construction in Kerala



Not Bhoomi Pooja . This is only " Kuttiyadikkal"

Bhoomi Pooja a function normally conducted by North Indians was carried out at site in presence of land owners and their relatives as the first activity related to construction at site.Some how I have never seen people in Kerala conducting  this pooja in connection with house construction.
I remember pooja conducted along with ‘Kuttiyadikkal’ (I don't know the correct name) ceremony when starting construction of house for our neighbour (Mr.Manu) at Kalluvathukkal (Kollam Distt, Kerala) one week back.Pictures taken at the time  of   pooja attached

A house is not merely a space between the four walls or a mix of concrete or bricks, but has an identity of its own that should reflect the personalities living in it. For every Keralite, a home is a life time ambition and achievement
